The second FIP Bronze tournament held in Bali, Indonesia, from June 12 to 15, 2025, featured a strong showing from South African padel players. Three national pairs competed in the main draw, collecting valuable international ranking points and gaining important experience on the global stage.
🔹 Luan Krige & Shaun Leagas — Stunning First Points
Luan and Shaun made an outstanding entrance into the tournament by coming through the qualifiers.
In the round of 32, they delivered a dominant performance with a resounding 6-1, 6-0 win.
Their run ended in the round of 16 against the number 4 seeds, but not without collecting 7 FIP ranking points — 2 for winning their qualifying draw and 5 for reaching the round of 1/16. A strong performance earning their first FIP points.
🔹 Warren Kuhn & Adam Van Harte — Grit and Comeback
Warren and Adam entered the main draw directly and faced a tough match in the first round against Marco Antonio Quereda Moreno (Spain) and Nicolás Córdoba (Argentina).
After dropping the first set, they made a remarkable comeback, winning 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-4. They exited in the round of 16 against the number 3 seeds, where they lost in two sets, holding a solid 7-5 in the first. They took home 5 ranking points.
🔹 Richard Ashforth & Egmond Van Heerden — Adding Experience
As the highest-ranked South African pair in the event, Richard and Egmond faced tough seeded opponents in their first match. Despite not advancing past the round of 32, they earned 3 FIP points and added another international appearance to their growing résumés.
